Rainbow Quakers

The rainbow signifies peace and the struggle for peace. It is the symbol of infinite diversity, and speaks of hope and promise, of rebirth and regeneration.

Susannah Brindle (Australia Yearly Meeting)

Rainbow Quakers support the LGBTQIA+ Quaker community and those who are questioning their gender or sexuality, and provide a forum for sharing, support and exploration of LGBTQIA+ spirituality. They are a reconvened group, an earlier group being called Friends for Gay and Lesbian Concerns and were established by minute 8 of Yearly Meeting (YM) 2023.

Rainbow Quakers meet monthly by Zoom for Meeting for worship and chit chat. Contact Val Bone at valbone@friend.quakers.nz for the link. We also meet together annually for mutual support and education and sometimes action. To go on the mail out list or for more information contact rainbow@ym.quakers.nz
